1 Identity & Age Proof
- Aadhaar Card — original + 2 self-attested copies, each partner

Arya Samaj marriages are conducted at Arya Samaj Mandirs under the Arya Marriage Validation Act, 1937. The ceremony itself is same-day; legal court registration under the Hindu Marriage Act happens afterward.

Witness Requirements — What Every Witness Must Bring
Both the Special Marriage Act and Hindu Marriage Act mandate three witnesses. The Marriage Officer verifies each witness on the day of registration.
1 Eligibility Rules
- All witnesses must be 21 years or older
- Must personally know the couple (any relationship is fine)
- Must be of sound mind and able to sign
- Family members, friends, colleagues, neighbours — all allowed
2 Documents Each Witness Brings
- Original Aadhaar Card (preferred)
- Voter ID or Driving Licence (acceptable alternatives)

- 1 self-attested photocopy of the ID
3 On the Day
- All three witnesses must be physically present

- Appeal period must be over (no pending appeal)
- Mutual consent or contested — both acceptable, but decree must be final
2 Widow / Widower Documents

Documents for Christian Marriage Registration
Christian marriages are governed by the Indian Christian Marriage Act, 1872. Solemnisation happens at a licensed church or before a Marriage Registrar. Civil registration is automatic for church marriages.
