A Nikah is a valid marriage under Muslim personal law, and the Nikahnama signed by the Qazi is an important religious record. However, the Nikahnama by itself is often not accepted as government proof of marriage. For a spouse visa, passport, joint accounts, mehr enforcement, maintenance and inheritance, you need a marriage certificate issued by the state.

Registration does not change your Nikah in any way — it simply records it with the government so it has full legal standing. Depending on your state, a Nikah can be registered under the applicable Muslim marriage registration rules or under the secular Special Marriage Act, 1954. We explain both, respect your religious process, and handle the government paperwork for you.

The process is simple once documents are ready. We verify eligibility, prepare the application, book the registrar or SDM appointment, and coordinate witnesses. The government certificate is then issued and, if you need it abroad, we can arrange apostille and attestation.

Bride and groom must meet the standard legal age and consent requirements, and the Nikahnama plus identity, age and address proofs form the core of the file. Having the Qazi's Nikahnama and witness details in order is what makes registration smooth.
